French Wine Explorers offers wine tours of France led by
wine professionals. Our goal is to take the mystery out of French
wine in a friendly, non-snob atmosphere. We're offering 8 wine
tours in 2003 to nearly all the wine regions of France, including
the best French wineries, gourmet dining and fine hotels. We also
create customized, private wine tours for groups of 4 or more
guests.
French Wine Explorers, an American tour company specializing in
wine and culinary tours of France, is committed to taking the
mystery out of the sometimes daunting world of French wine. The
company’s tours offer guests a friendly, non-snob environment
that's equally welcoming to wine novices and advanced wine
enthusiasts. In 2003, the company will offer eight departures to
Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Rhône Valley, Provence, Loire
Valley and Beaujolais. The scheduled programs are fully escorted
by Lauriann Greene and Jean-Pierre Sollin, two personable,
certified sommeliers living in France who take a down-to-earth,
fun approach to wine. Their extensive wine industry connections
help open the doors to top French wineries for their guests.
Among the highlights of the 2003 season: Best of Bordeaux, two
tours including an unprecedented number of tastings at the most
prestigious chateaus like Lafite Rothschild, Latour, Margaux,
Haut-Brion, Mouton Rothschild, Léoville Barton, Cos d’Estournel,
and others. The May Bordeaux tour is led by wine journalist Robin
Garr of WineLoversPage.com; Cooking and Wine in Provence, a week
of hands-on cooking and wine tasting classes, winery visits and
sightseeing, in residence at a beautifully-restored, 16th century
Provençale home; and two tours to Burgundy, one a luxury tour
coupled with Champagne, the other including the Northern Rhône
Valley, and both including the region’s best wineries and a
special tasting of wines from Domaine de la Romanée Conti.
The average group size of 10-12 guests keeps the tours intimate
and ensures personal attention. All tours include deluxe, air
conditioned transportation, 3 and 4 star hotels with private bath,
gourmet meals, all wine tasting, sightseeing, and services of a
bilingual wine expert throughout. Prices range from US$2,595 to
US$4,595 per person, double occupancy, for these land-only
packages.
French Wine Explorers also offers private, custom-designed wine
tours for groups of four or more guests wishing to choose their
own dates and itinerary, accompanied by a bilingual wine expert.
Corporate programs are also available, as well as special tours
for wine and gourmet clubs and wine and restaurant professionals.
